Bangladesh vs West Indies | Ist ODI

In the first ODI played in Dhaka, Bangladesh defeated the West Indies by six wickets and took a 1-0 lead in the series. West Indies team bat first was collapsed to just 122 runs. In response, Bangladesh achieved the target by losing four wickets in the 34th over.

Shakib Al Hasan, who was returning to international cricket after the ban, performed brilliantly. Shakib, who made a comeback to international cricket after a long gap of about 15 months, gave a tremendous performance. He took four wickets for just eight runs in 7.2 overs and contributed significantly to the visiting team cheaply.

 Apart from him, Hassan Mahmood took three wickets from Bangladesh while Mustafizur Rahman took two wickets. Shakib also contributed 19 runs while chasing a small target.

Batting first after losing the toss, the West Indies piled on just 122 runs in 32.2 overs. Kyle Meyers scored the most 40 runs from the visiting team. Apart from him, Rowman Powell contributed 28 while captain Jason Mohammad contributed 17 runs. In response, host captain Tamim Iqbal's knock of 44 off 69 balls, Bangladesh easily achieved the target. The second match of the series will be played in Dhaka on 22 January.
