UGC NET 2018: Learn Before Applying
The application process for the National Eligibility Test
(UGC Net 2018) has started. CBSE had conducted July month Net Examination but
now the National Testing Agency (NTA) will conduct NET Examination. If you are
registering for the NET test, then you must know these essential things...
- From this year, registration form will be available on National Testing Agency's official website i.e. http://www.nta.ac.in, in place of CBSE website.
- Candidates who have secured a master's degree with at least 55 percent marks. He can do the registration.
- Candidates of Reserve category get 5 percent rebate. That is, if they have achieved a master's degree with 50 percent marks, then they can apply.
- Like July 2018, the NET will be organized in 84 subjects and it will be organized in 91 cities.
- Candidates who are in the final year of Masters can also apply for the NET examination.
- The maximum age limit for junior research fellowship (JRF) has been increased from 28 years to 30 years, while no age limit has been fixed for Assistant Professor.
- Two papers will be organized for the UGC Net Examination. In the first paper, 50 questions will be asked which will be of 100 numbers. 1 hour will be given for paper 1.
- The second paper will have 100 questions, which will be 200 numbers. Candidates will be given 2 hours time for Paper 2.
- The first shift time for Paper 1 will be from 9:30 to 10:30 and the second shift will be from 2 pm to 3 pm.
- The first shift time for Paper 2 will be from 11 am to 1 pm and the second shift will be from 3:50 to 5:30 pm.
- The candidates who have received PhD degree have completed their masters (September 19, 1991) and they will be given a discount of 5%.
- In November, Mock Test Paper / Sample Paper will be released for the preparation on the official website.
