Xiaomi will now Assemble Mi LED TV in India
Chinese technology company Xiaomi will produce Mi LED TV in
India itself. The company has partnered with Dixon Technologies for the
production of TV in India. Xiaomi has teamed up with Dixon to start a plant in
Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh.
This plant, built with Dixon, spreads over 32 acres. There
will be more than 850 employees. According to the company, this plant will
produce 1 million Mi LED TVs from the first quarter of 2019. Firstly the Mi LED
TV 32 inch and Mi LED Smart TV 4A 43-inch assembling will start here.
Significantly, a recent report from Research firm IDC has
come up. It has been reported that in the second quarter of 2018, Xiaomi Bharti
has become the number one LED TV brand in the market.
Xiaomi Vice President and country head Manu Jain said,
"With the support of Andhra Pradesh, we are taking the next steps in
India. After success in the smartphone market, we are starting to build MI LED
TVs as the Next Chapter in India. We have become the No. 1 Smart TV brand in
India and will increase the supply so that we can reach to more customers.
A report of IDC says that Xiaomi has tripled its shipments
in the smart TV segment in the second quarter of 2018 and has become number one
in this category. Xiaomi claims that the company has sold 5 lakh smart TVs in
the Indian market within six months. Let us know that the company has launched
Smart TV for the first time in India in February this year and expanded into
this segment recently and launched the new series of Smart TVs.
